Lishu is a Licensed Acupuncturist (L.A.c) and Herbalist, she graduated from the South baylo University in CA and earned Master of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine ( MSTOM ). She is a California Licensed Acupuncturist and Diplomate in Acupuncture, and Oriental Medicine (Dipl.O.M.) from the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine ( NCCAOM )
She Specializd in pain management ( RA, OA), Diabetic nephropathy, inferility and herbal medicine, she is practices the integration of Oriental medicine and Naturopathic medicine modalities which include personalized health assessment and wellness program, acupuncture, herbal formula (TCM, and botanical medicine)
She is from China. she grew up in the area around Dongting lake where over 400 years ago Li Shizhen wrote his famous book the Compendium of Materia Medica. she read this book in 2008 and was fascinated by the descriptions of the appearance, smell and taste of different herbs.
Her grandfather was a Chinese herbal doctor and he taught her mother who in turn taught her. She learnt Chinese herbs when she was child. As children she would collect seeds from dried flowers to eat as snacks, later learning that these seeds could also be used to treat insomnia. In her home town every spring families would cook rice with artemisia annua, a herb that Tu Youyou( NOBEL PRIZE WINNER) later showed contained a substance that can help treat malaria.
She is interested in the medicinal properties of plants and read Compendium of Materia Medica. she studied online and followed the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine course on acupuncture and moxibustion by professor Tang Lixin and the Chengdu University of TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) course on Chinese herbal medicine by professor Zhang Tingmo 10 years ago.
She studied an online course from Beijing University in prescribing herbal medicine about a 1,700 year old book called Shanghan Lun, taught by Prof. Hao Wanshan in 2010.
She graduated college with a BS in Accounting, a Masters in Project Management and later qualified as an accountant and loss estimation licenses in China. She worked in this industry for 20 years, becoming a Vice President in a insurance estimation company.
In 2012 she enrolled at Santa Ana Beauty College and South Baylo University to study Acupressure treatments, Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine. The course was bilingual (Chinese and English).
During her time studying she had many opportunities to develop her practical skills through two internships. she treated a hemiplegic patient for one year who has now completely recovered. Before treatment patient couldn't talk, walk or write but after a year of treatment,she is now a quick runner, clear speaker and can write clearly. she also treated a patient with Rheumatoid arthritis who hadn’t been able to make a fist with her hands for over 19 years. After 6 months of treatment her hands were much more flexible and she could again make a fist with her hands.
After 4 years studying she graduated and was awarded the Dr Dean award.
After graduation she visited China over 6 months to one year to study with an 80-year old traditional doctor in her hometown and to visit the Wudang mountains to visit a Taoist doctor. There she learnt acupuncture and pulse diagnosis and Folk Chinese medicine.
In her own clinic. she has successfully treated numerous patients including her husband who had diabetic neuropathy and was taking insulin before every meal. He had recently lost feeling in his legs and for 20 years had suffered tingling and numbness. After 6 months of treatment feeling returned to his legs and he stopped requiring insulin and other expensive medicine to manage his pain. Another patient was a 72-year old man who had a similar problem to my husband and had varicose veins. After 6 months of treatment his tingling and numbness were also cured and his varicose veins were also much improved.
She treated a patient who had molluscum contagiosum, a skin condition where hard warts had formed over his body for two years. He had visited the hospital many time and tried numerous medicines, but the treatments were not conclusive and the condition returned. After six month of treatment he was clear of warts
she has also treated many RA and OA patients who have told her how she treatments have changed their lives. Before treatment they were very limited and unable to perform many routing tasks, after treatment they were able to cook, clean their houses, do yard work and their families are much happier.
One patient who had suffered bad neck pain for over 30 years had tried taking opiods to handle the pain, but after some years even these drugs didn’t dampen the pain. After acupuncture treatment his pain was reduced and he was able to stop taking opiods.
