What is acupuncture and oriental medicine?

Acupuncture is an ancient holistic healing art that originated in China. It is a complete medical system that has been used to diagnose, treat, prevent illness, and improve well-being for thousands of years.  The practice of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine has several objectives; one is to relieve pain and other adverse symptoms, and another is to strengthen the immune system. Oriental Medicine is used to balance, harmonize and integrate functions of the organs with each others, making for a unified, healthy person, rather than a collection of fragmented, disharmonious parts. When balanced, the bodies' self-healing abilities are activated, enabling internal stability and harmony to occur. Dr Cai currently researches and studies Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and Western Medicine

Acupuncturists in California are Primary Healthcare Providers. This means that patients can visit an Acupuncturist without referral from an MD, and often times this visit can be covered by medical insurance. California Acupuncturists are known throughout the United States as being well-trained and highly competent.

Consultation

Our consultation is based on a
Tongue & Pulse diagnosis, since
most basic movements can be
observed in any of nine
fundamental positions on each
wrist and different areas of the
tongue.
The pulse at the wrist reflects the state of energy in the body and mind.
The tongue reflects the health of the different organ systems. If there is an unusual color, coating, and/or shape in a certain area, special attention is pain to the corresponding organ system.
