稍微走几步就气喘、呼吸急促;
全身乏力,没有精神;
睡眠不好;
腿、脚、脸部明显浮肿;
夜尿频繁,每晚需要起床5–6次;
✔ 夜尿由每晚5–6次减少到1–2次;
✔ 睡眠质量明显改善;
✔ 腿部和脚部浮肿基本消退,仅在久坐后偶尔会有轻微肿胀;
Finding Comfort Again During Cancer Treatment
A 73-year-old gentleman came to my clinic after completing his fourth round of chemotherapy for recurrent prostate cancer.
While chemotherapy was an important part of his cancer care, the side effects had become overwhelming.
He could barely eat.
Persistent nausea, vomiting, and severe abdominal bloating made him miserable. He gently tapped on his swollen abdomen and said, "It feels just like a drum."
He was also experiencing:
Shortness of breath after walking only a few steps
Extreme fatigue and low energy
Poor sleep
Swelling in his legs, feet, and face
Frequent nighttime urination (5–6 times every night)
Low back pain and knee pain
Alongside his ongoing oncology care, we developed an individualized supportive treatment plan using weekly acupuncture and customized Chinese herbal medicine.
About two months later, he returned looking noticeably brighter.
The first thing he shared was,
"I can eat again."
His nausea and vomiting had resolved, and the severe abdominal bloating was gone.
Although he still needed to rest after walking for a while, he was no longer short of breath after just a few steps.
He also experienced several meaningful improvements:
• Nighttime urination decreased from 5–6 times to just once or twice.
• His sleep became much more restful.
• The swelling in his legs and feet had largely resolved, with only occasional mild swelling after sitting for long periods.
• His overall comfort and quality of life improved.
His care is ongoing, and we continue to adjust his treatment based on his individual needs. Our goal is to support patients throughout their healthcare journey by helping relieve treatment-related symptoms, improve daily function, and enhance quality of life while they continue receiving appropriate medical care.
This patient story is shared with identifying details removed to protect privacy. Acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine were provided as supportive care alongside conventional cancer treatment and are not a replacement for oncology care. Individual results vary.
Healing isn't just about reducing symptoms—it's about helping people get back to living the life they love. Every treatment plan is personalized because every patient is unique.
